Tips for Beginner Gardeners
How to start a vegetable garden for beginners…
Unlike a lot of avid gardeners, I didn’t start gardening as a child. In fact it is difficult to remember exactly when I got started vegetable gardening, but I know it was as a young adult with a small family.
At the time, I was living on a farm and being short of money, we tried to do a lot for ourselves, including growing veggies…
It was the perfect place to learn because it was a family farm and they had grown a lot of their own food for a couple of generations, so there were experienced gardeners on hand if any issues came up.
Of course vegetable gardening tips for beginners, like myself were always coming forward, which was actually very helpful. As a new gardener I didn’t really have any idea what I didn’t know or what I needed to know!
Gardening for Beginners
Starting a garden for beginners turned out to not be very complicated… In fact I don’t think I even considered the fact that I didn’t really know what I was doing.
Having a backyard vegetable garden was wonderful, and being able to just go out the door and pick some delicious veggies for a meal was really a privilege I probably took for granted a bit at the time.
Even back then I had a sense of avoiding nasty chemicals, so trying to stay free of them was more or less a natural thing; however, I didn’t really understand the concept of ‘organic’ gardening. I didn’t really understand that a lot of fertilizers are concoctions that are put together ‘scientifically’ trying to ‘copy’ nature.

So if you are just starting out wanting to grow your own veggies it is good to educate yourself a little preferably before you start but as early on as possible in the learning process.
